Our Best Shot
Thursday, 18th October 2012
We're very proud to announce the launch of Best Shots, a fantastic photographic competition Web site designed and built by us and run by our friends at The Station Charity, Richmond.
Devised as a fundraising initiative for The Station, Best Shots aims to recognise and reward outstanding photography with a share of £10,000 in cash prizes, as well as great photographic equipment. Not only that, but the top 100 photos will be taken on a national tour of heritage venues, where copies will be available for purchase.
Entries will be appraised by a prestigious judging panel, including internationally acclaimed landscape photographer Joe Cornish, Amanda Berry, OBE - Chief Executive of BAFTA - and Roger Tooth, Head of Photography at The Guardian.
What's more, every particpant will receieve constructive feedback from the judges. So no matter how well you do, there really is something in Best Shots for all entrants.
The competition has the support of many well known local, national and international backers - such as Epson, FujiFilm, Corel, General Electric, Verbatim, the Darlington and Stockton Times - and our very own Edward Robertson.
With ten categories to choose from, and five entries per person, every photographer can submit their favourite images. While there is an entry fee for most of us, under 13s get to enter a photo for free into the Young Snappers category.
Myself and Andy have been hard at work putting this site together over the last couple of months. It's been a great challenge, and we're really proud of it. We can't wait to get a look at some of the entries.
So what are you waiting for? Get over to www.bestshots.co.uk and get uploading your favourite snaps. Good luck!
