year in review 2024

Looking back at 2024, it was a year of growth and achievements for our team in the Newcastle office. We launched a dozen new websites, earned 5-star reviews for our work and expanded our team. Along the way, we also made time for team-building events, strengthening our collaboration and company culture.

We've launched lots of new websites

12 new websites

In 2024, we successfully launched twelve new websites, ranging from small business sites to larger e-commerce platforms. Notable projects included Direct Business Wear, Elite Embroidery, Pondkeeper, and Gold Traders. Each launch was the result of our team's dedication and expertise, ensuring every site met our clients' needs and expectations. Lauren, our web designer, said:

When you're part of a team that are genuinely all working together, towards one goal, it's pretty darn hard to have a bad day.

We've received 5-star reviews

In 2024, we were thrilled to receive dozens of 5-star reviews from happy clients, bringing our total to 20. Each review is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team. You can read all of them here.

We had a change of staff

hello lauren

In 2024, we welcomed Lauren to the team! With her in-depth knowledge of design principles and her expertise in Figma, she has helped us refine our workflows, boosting both productivity and efficiency. Her industry experience has been invaluable, accelerating our ability to deliver outstanding projects to clients in the North East and beyond. Lauren said:

Since starting in May, I can't recall a day that has led to more frowns than smiles. Challenges are tackled together, not alone.

Team culture at Newcastle Office

Team spirit was a big focus for us in 2024! We took part in several team-building activities, including two thrilling e-karting races at Team Valleys Sports, where Angus, our web developer, claimed victory in both. In July, we also attended the Middlesbrough Frontend Conference. While it was great to connect with fellow industry professionals, we left feeling that the 2023 conference had set a higher bar. James, our senior web developer, said:

This year I enjoyed the variety of websites we worked on, the opportunity to go to Middlesborough FE and our social events at which I won absolutely nothing!

Fast-forward to December, and the holiday spirit was in full swing! Our office had a visit from Secret Santa before we headed out for our annual Christmas do. Dressed in our best Christmas jumpers, we celebrated the season with bowling and other games at Lane7, wrapping up the year with plenty of laughter and friendly competition. Angus, our web developer, perfectly summarised what the year 2024 was like to him, here at Edward Robertson:

This year at Edward Robertson has been fantastic! We’ve tackled a wide variety of exciting projects, designing and developing great websites that showcase our creativity and technical skills. From unique challenges to innovative solutions, every project highlighted our versatility. Collaboration has been key, with the team working seamlessly together.
